In this de-colonial performance work experi_theater deals with PLANTATION, both in relation to people and plants. This performance work focuses on issues that strongly influence political theory and contemporary politics: the legacy of white settler colonialism and its ongoing narrative implications within debates on global migration, modern enslavement, regional claims, and affiliations. The performance shows how the planting and de-planting of people and plants are elements of the same overarching colonial system. Today's ecological problems are a key legacy of colonialism, which has always operated its plantation economy as a cooperative project affecting plants, animals, and people simultaneously. In this context, the performance also exposes Switzerland's involvement in colonial planting and clearing practices that have led and continue to lead to the uprooting of indigenous plants and people. It is also exposing the recent experiences of institutionalized structural racism and white supremacy violence, the deep plantation approach of neo-colonialism that we had to go through and have to go through living and working in Zürich. The performance follows the rudimentary traces of non-white artistic intuitive processes of experi_performers, in whose vocal, physical, and musical echo spaces a de-colonial perspective on NATIVENESS can become visible.

Im Ramen des 30 jährigen Jubiläums vom Werkraum Warteck pp zeigen wir die neuste Performance von experi_theater.

In dieser dekolonialen Performance beschäftigt sich experi_theater mit «PLANTATION», sowohl in Bezug auf Menschen als auch auf Pflanzen. Dabei geht es um das Erbe des weißen Siedlerkolonialismus und seine anhaltenden narrativen Implikationen innerhalb von Debatten über globale Migration, moderne Versklavung, regionale Ansprüche und Zugehörigkeiten. Die Performance zeigt, wie das Ein- und Auspflanzen von Menschen und Pflanzen Elemente desselben übergreifenden kolonialen Systems sind. Sie legt auch die jüngsten Erfahrungen von institutionalisiertem strukturellem Rassismus und weisser Vorherrschaftsgewalt offen, den tiefgreifenden Plantagenansatz des Neokolonialismus, den die Performer*innen von experi_theater durchleben mussten und müssen, wenn sie in Zürich leben und arbeiten. Die Performance folgt den rudimentären Spuren nicht-weißer künstlerischer Intuitionsprozesse von experi_performer*innen, in deren stimmlichen, körperlichen und musikalischen Echoräumen eine de-koloniale Perspektive auf NATIVENESS sichtbar werden kann.
